Why does my go into standby by itself?

Your T4-S4 has two auto standby settings that help reduce energy consumption.

By default:

  • No Remote Use puts your T4-S4 into standby after 3 hours without any remote control use.
  • No Audio or Video puts your T4-S4 into standby after 15 minutes without audio or video content.

Paused content still counts as audio or video, so the No Audio or Video setting will not put your T4-S4 into standby just because live TV, a recording or streamed content is paused.

To change these settings:

  1. Go to Home → Settings → System → Standby Options → Auto Standby.
  2. Select No Remote Use or No Audio or Video.
  3. Choose your preferred time, or select Off.

The available options are:

  • No Remote Use: 3 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours or Off.
  • No Audio or Video: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or Off.

Increasing these times, or turning auto standby off, may increase energy consumption.
