Can't see the Aero on your TV during setup
If you’ve connected the Aero and your TV isn’t showing its setup screen, the TV is usually just showing a different input. These steps get you there.
Check the light on the Aero
The light on top of the Aero should be green. If it’s red, the Aero is in standby: point the Aero remote at the box and press the power button. If there’s no light at all, see Aero won’t turn on.
Switch the TV to the Aero
When the Aero starts up, it asks the TV to switch to it, using HDMI-CEC (see HDMI-CEC). That only works if HDMI-CEC is switched on in the TV’s settings, and the TV may miss the request if it was off or busy at the time. If the TV hasn’t switched, do it with the TV’s own remote (the Aero remote can’t change the TV’s input):
- Press the TV remote’s input button. It’s usually labelled INPUT, SOURCE or AV, but on many remotes it shows a symbol instead of a word, often a rectangle with an arrow pointing into it (on LG remotes it looks like a plug).
- A list of inputs appears. Choose the HDMI number printed next to the socket the Aero is plugged into, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, and press OK.
The Aero’s setup screen should then appear. If you’d like the TV to switch to the Aero by itself in future, check HDMI-CEC is on in the TV’s settings: see HDMI-CEC isn’t working.
Still nothing?
- The TV says there’s no signal on the right input: check the HDMI cable is pushed fully into both the Aero and the TV, and see No picture or a flickering picture? Check the HDMI cable. If the Aero goes through a soundbar, AV receiver or HDMI switch, connect it straight to the TV instead (see No picture through an HDMI switch or splitter).
- The Manhattan logo appears and then the picture goes, or the Aero is stuck on a “System Recovery” screen: see Aero stuck on “System Recovery” with certain TVs.
If you can’t find the input button, get in touch with our support team with your TV’s make and model (usually on a label on the back), and we’ll tell you which button to press.
