How do I factory reset the Aero?
A factory reset returns the Aero to its out-of-the-box state and takes around five minutes. It’s a safe, common fix – we may ask you to do one to clear a problem that a restart doesn’t.
How to reset
- Press the settings button (bottom right of the Aero remote).
- Go to System, then Factory Reset.
- Confirm, and leave the box to work through the reset – it takes around five minutes, and the Aero restarts itself.
- The Aero then takes you through first-time setup again.
What to have ready
- Your Wi-Fi name and password (not needed if the Aero is wired).
- Sign-in details for any apps you use (Netflix, ITVX, Prime Video and so on) – a reset signs you out of everything.
What a reset changes
- All settings return to their defaults – including any you’ve changed, such as display, audio or Automatic System Updates – so revisit those afterwards if you’d customised them.
- App sign-ins are cleared; you sign back in as you set up.
- Your software stays up to date – a reset doesn’t remove software updates.
If the problem you reset for comes straight back, don’t keep resetting – get in touch and we’ll look into it properly.
