Bluetooth headphones or speakers too quiet, even at full volume
If your Bluetooth headphones or speaker sound much quieter than they should, even with the volume turned right up, this is usually caused by a software issue we’re aware of. If the Aero’s own volume was turned down when the headphones connected, that lower level carries over and limits how loud the headphones can go, even though the on-screen volume shows 100.
The fix
- Disconnect the headphones or speaker from the Aero.
- Set the Aero’s volume to 100 while the sound is coming through your TV.
- Reconnect the headphones and try again.
Also check that CEC Volume Control is switched off (Settings → Devices → CEC Volume Control). When it’s on, the volume buttons control your TV rather than the Aero itself, so you may not be adjusting the level that matters.
If you normally use the Aero’s volume as your main day-to-day control, it’s worth leaving it at or near 100 and adjusting the volume on your TV or soundbar instead. That gives every connected device the full range to work with.
This isn’t how it should work, and it will be corrected in a future software update. If your headphones are still too quiet after following these steps, please get in touch and let us know the headphone model and your software version.
