Why does my S4•R go into standby by itself?
Your S4•R has two auto standby settings that help reduce energy consumption.
By default:
- No Remote Use puts your S4•R into standby after 3 hours without any remote control use.
- No Audio or Video puts your S4•R into standby after 15 minutes without audio or video content.
Paused content still counts as audio or video, so the No Audio or Video setting will not put your S4•R into standby just because live TV, a recording or streamed content is paused.
To change these settings:
- Go to Home → Settings → System → Standby Options → Auto Standby.
- Select No Remote Use or No Audio or Video.
- Choose your preferred time, or select Off.
The available options are:
- No Remote Use: 3 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours or Off.
- No Audio or Video: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or Off.
Increasing these times, or turning auto standby off, may increase energy consumption.
