Manhattan Aero

Can I use a universal remote with Aero?

Yes, with some caveats.

Universal remotes like Sofabaton or One For All can usually learn the Manhattan Aero remote’s IR commands. To set this up:

  1. Unpair the Aero remote’s Bluetooth connection through Settings → Devices → Remote Control. The Aero remote will fall back to IR mode, which is what the universal remote can learn from.
  2. Use your universal remote’s learning function to copy the commands from the Aero remote.
  3. Once you’re done, you can re-pair the Aero remote over Bluetooth if you’d like to keep using it as your primary remote.

Limitation: voice control won’t work through a universal remote. The voice button is a Bluetooth feature of the Aero’s own remote.

Bluetooth pairing with third-party Bluetooth remotes may be possible, but isn’t something we’ve tested broadly. If you try it and have success or trouble, we’d be glad to hear about it.
