Why won't my remote learn from my LG Magic Remote?

The T4•R remote can only learn infrared (IR) signals. LG Magic Remotes use both Bluetooth and IR, so the Magic Remote needs to be put into IR mode before the T4•R remote can learn from it.

Put your LG Magic Remote into IR mode

1. Put your LG TV into standby.
2. On the LG Magic Remote, press and hold BACK and HOME.
3. Wait until the power button LED briefly turns solid red.

Your LG Magic Remote should now be in IR mode.

Put your LG Magic Remote back into Bluetooth mode

Basic functions like volume and power should continue to work in IR mode, but advanced features such as voice control and the pointer will not be available.

To reconnect the Magic Remote using Bluetooth:

1. Turn your LG TV back on.
2. Press OK on the Magic Remote.
