Well, if you’ve had just about enough of watching your TV bills rise while your patience shrinks, you’re not alone. We surveyed over 2000 Brits and found that a staggering 68% have been hit by frustrating price hikes from the likes of Sky, BT, and Virgin Media over the past 12 months.

It seems paid TV has turned into a bit of a money pit, and more than a quarter of subscribers are seriously considering calling it quits.

With the cost of living on the up, it’s no surprise that so many are feeling the pinch when the bills roll in. And the numbers don’t lie: almost a third of paid TV customers reported feeling frustrated, dissatisfied, or downright let down by these unexpected hikes. In fact, 22% admitted to resenting their providers – not exactly the best way to keep customers loyal.

It gets worse. Over a third of subscribers are tired of seeing their hard-earned cash splashed on flashy celeb endorsements from the likes of Idris Elba and Usain Bolt. I mean, sure, they’re great, but do they really justify those ever-increasing bills?

Only 5% of people think those star-studded campaigns are worth it. Instead, nearly 40% would happily trade those glitzy ads for cheaper bills and better service.

It’s no wonder that with all this going on, people are starting to look for alternatives. According to the survey, 45% of those thinking about cancelling their subscriptions are planning to do so in the next six months. It’s a mass exodus in the making, and with so many dissatisfied customers, it’s hard to argue against it.

And let’s be honest – this summer has shown us that you don’t need a pricey subscription to enjoy some of the best telly out there. England’s exciting run to the Euros final? Free to watch. Wimbledon’s epic showdowns? No contract required. Team GB’s gold medal moments in the Olympics? All there, ready to enjoy without shelling out for a premium channel. We’ve been treated to some of the best live sport without the need for yet another bill.

As Alex Arbab-Zadeh, COO of Manhattan TV, puts it: “It’s no wonder that Brits are turning their backs on being tied to lengthy terms, price hikes, and rising bills. Telly lovers can experience over 100 channels and 60,000 hours of on-demand and catch-up TV in stunning 4K, without paying a penny for pricey celebrity endorsements and a fleet of fancy vans.”

With Manhattan’s T4 and T4•R recorders, you can ditch the contract, keep all your favourite channels, and save some cash. Whether you’re fed up with price hikes or just tired of paying for content that doesn’t quite hit the mark, the T4 range offers the chance to have and extraordinary telly experience all on your terms.

With over half of those surveyed said they feel underwhelmed, indifferent, or frustrated with the content they’re paying for – so why not make the switch?

So, if you’re looking to cut the cord, maybe it’s time to join the growing number of Brits saying goodbye to pricey subscriptions and hello to quality telly, no strings attached.

What about you? Thinking of making the switch? We’d love to hear what’s got you considering ditching the contracts. Drop us a comment and let’s get the conversation going!
