Aero and T4-R Supply and Pricing Update

It’s Happened Again

We’ll be straight with you: Aero has sold out again.

The restocked units that arrived at Currys and John Lewis at the end of March were gone within days. In some cases, shipments of several hundred units sold in well under sixty minutes. We knew there was strong demand – this is something else.

The response to the Aero has been extraordinary, and on top of that, the supply of certain vital components has become challenged across the whole industry (due to the massive spike in AI data centre construction – see more below). The challenge in sourcing these components has also delayed the arrival of larger shipments sufficient to meet the demand.

Here’s the current picture: the next batch of Aero is expected to arrive in early May. As with last time, we’ll do everything we can to make sure everyone who wants one can get one, and we’ll contact everyone on our mailing list as soon as stock availability is confirmed.

A Note on Pricing & Supply

There is another thing we need to be upfront about, and it’s connected to an issue that’s bigger than Manhattan TV.

As noted above, the Aero stock situation is partly the result of a truly incredible response to our new product. But it’s also been caused by circumstances beyond our control that are affecting the whole technology industry – difficulties in obtaining the memory and chipsets essential to Aero’s functioning.

The cause is structural, and it is hitting manufacturers across the consumer electronics industry: the cost of memory components and chipsets has risen sharply and rapidly, driven by the explosion in AI data centre construction worldwide. As a result, memory is in fierce global demand from hyperscale data centre operators, and that demand has pushed component prices and lead times to levels that simply weren’t foreseeable eighteen months ago.

So, when the Aero returns at the end of April, it will have a new price of £89.99. That is a £20 increase on the original price, and we want to be clear: getting it to that figure, rather than something considerably higher, has taken a significant amount of effort.

It is the minimum adjustment that allows us to carry on making and selling the Aero. Manhattan TV’s commitment – to delivering free British television without monthly bills – hasn’t changed, and nor will it ever.

We also expect stock to remain constrained until our June shipment arrives. From then, we expect to have enough supply to meet demand for the rest of the year.

T4-R Price Changes – Effective This Week

For the same reasons, we’re also announcing updated pricing on the Manhattan T4-R, our flagship Freeview recorder. These changes are live as of this week (w/c 6th April 2026).

The new prices are:

  • T4-R 500GB – £199
  • T4-R 1TB – £219
  • T4-R 2TB – £239

These are increases of £30, £20, and £10 respectively on the previous prices, and are solely the result of the dramatic changes in the supply of memory components referenced above – lower capacity storage has been affected the most.

The T4-R remains, we believe, outstanding value for a recorder of its quality and capability, and it continues to be the best Freeview recorder available in the UK.

Our Commitment Hasn’t Changed

None of this changes what Manhattan TV is here to do: bring you the best of Great British telly live, free, and without a costly subscription bill landing in your inbox – or letterbox – every month.

Aero will be back. The T4-R remains on sale. And we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
