After a pulsating season of domestic football, you could forgive players for wanting to take the summer off. But that just won’t be the case. After a 12 month delay, we welcome the European Championship to our screens. And the good news is: every kick will be free to watch on your Manhattan boxes!

England, Scotland and Wales will bear the burden of Britain's hopes during the tournament. Will Kane and co. bring it home? Can the Tartan Army spring a Scottish surprise? Or will Gareth Bale inspire Wales to another Euro semi final - or even further?

Wales vs Switzerland, 12th June (BBC 7pm)

Wales go into the tournament under a cloud of uncertainty surrounding their management. Despite this, they should be buoyed by the performances back in 2016 that put Welsh football back on the map. This time, they open Home Nation proceedings against the Swiss and it’s sure to be a tight affair.

Premier League fans will recognise the likes of Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri for Switzerland - making up a tough group for the Welsh alongside Italy and Turkey.

England vs Croatia, 13th June (BBC 2pm)

Getting off to a good start is crucial at international tournaments and England’s couldn’t be more challenging. England start with the rematch we’ve all been waiting for and a chance to exact revenge for their World Cup elimination back in 2018. Southgate’s Three Lions will be backed by a Wembley crowd that will surely provide a much-needed lift, but will it be enough or will Croatia inflict heartache again?

Scotland vs Czech Republic, 14th June (BBC 2pm)

We can guarantee the Scottish team are going to be well up for this as this showdown against the Czech side will be Scotland’s first taste of major tournament football since 1998. Too long we say!

England and Croatia - who make up the rest of Group D - both will have one eye on this game. It’s comfortably Scotland’s biggest match of this millennium.

England vs Scotland, 18th June (ITV 8pm)

But it will only be their biggest game until this one comes along. And what a huge game this is! The age-old rivalry between these two is reignited sparingly but when it is, it’s electric.

We’re certain it will be a massive game for both sides and club friendship will be booted out the window. A loss? Well, that could spell an imminent elimination. You simply cannot miss this one.

The Final, 11th July (BBC and ITV 8pm)

Save the date - this will be massive. We don’t actually know if one of the Home Nations will be in the final. However, we’ve still got hope at this stage. And that counts for something - right? Nevertheless - this will be a complete blockbuster. You’re spoilt for choice too as the BBC and ITV will be showing coverage simultaneously. Will you be following the likes of Gary Neville and Roy Keane on ITV or Gary Lineker and Thierry Henry on the BBC? Either way, it’s a guaranteed win!

England? Scotland? Wales? Who are you rooting for? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter, or if you have more to say, email us - we'd love to hear from you!
