Manhattan T1 v2 update available now

Posted on Monday June 11, 2018

We're always keen to improve our products and the v2 update introduces a host of new features, enhancements and bug fixes.

If your T1 is connected to the internet and left in standby, it will update automatically overnight (if you haven't disabled automatic updates in the System Settings menu). Please see below for other ways to update.

Look ahead without leaving Full Screen TV

Go beyond the next programme and see what’s on all day with the improved Now & Next browser.

Discover repeats & more episodes

The improved programme info screen makes it easy to find when a programme is showing again and future episodes are on.

  • The T1 will always detect the availability of an HD alternative. Previously this was not always the case because some broadcasters are not reliably using the official method to signal them. V2 introduces an improved way to detect them.
  • When a new reminder clashes with more than 1 existing reminder the clashes are all resolved at the same time.
  • Pressing P-UP and P-DOWN scrolls up or down 6 channels at a time in the TV Guide.
  • A guide to the icons used throughout the T1 has been added to the Help menu.
  • The installed region is shown at the end of Setup and Smart Retune.
  • Improvements to list switching in the TV Guide.
  • Assorted improvements to transitions and animations.

Bug Fixes

  • Some people in regions that receive signals from multiple transmitters experienced issues with lost channels, duplicate channels or deleted channels being restored. We’ve worked closely with affected customers to resolve these issues.
  • Some Interactive Services introduced changes since the launch of the T1 that caused crashes, playback problems and some images not to load. Affected services included Ketchup TV, Planet Knowledge, Racing UK and Vision TV. All issues have been fixed.
  • Assorted minor bug fixes.

How to Update

To check your current version, press MENU, select ‘Help’ and then ‘About'. If the version is lower than 2.00, follow the below instructions. We recommend performing a Smart Retune after updating to ensure that all channels available to you are stored. Press MENU and select 'Settings' > 'Tuning' > 'Smart Retune'.

Update your T1 over the internet

  • Your T1 needs to be connected to your internet router with a wired Ethernet cable.
  • To check the status of your T1's internet connection, press MENU and select 'Help' > 'System Info' > 'Network'.
  • When your T1 is connected to the internet and left in standby, it will update automatically overnight as long as you haven't disabled automatic updates in the System Settings menu.
  • If it hasn’t yet updated and you want to update straight away, press MENU and select ‘Settings’ > ‘System' > 'Check for update now’.
  • Your T1 doesn’t need to be connected to your TV or aerial to update. If your T1 is too far from a wired internet connection, you can take your T1 and the power supply closer to your router. As long as your T1 is connected to your router by Ethernet cable, has power and is in standby it will update overnight. We recommend doing this in the evening just before you go to sleep. After plugging in your T1 near your router, it will turn on and the LED will go blue. Wait 30 seconds and then press the STANDBY button on your remote control to put it in standby. The LED will turn red.
  • When you turn your T1 on for the first time after it has updated, a message will be displayed confirming the update has taken place successfully.
